About Tim
March4, 2010
Last night Melissa and I had dinner with Tim’s friend, Shane, at one of Tim’s favorite restaurants in Tucson, Bob Dobb’s. Of course, I had Tim’s favorite burger, The Bob, made with Worcesteshire sauce and the traditional Guiness to wash it down with! Tim’s son Timothy was with us after a long day at day care munching on chicken strips.
It was great to see Shane, who has been friends with Tim for many years. As Shane watched Timothy he reminisced about the time he spent with Tim. He remembered what a special person Tim was: how, whenever there was a party, Tim would go around to all the attendees to make sure they were having a good time; how Tim attracted people, they just wanted to be with him. I told Shane how Tim was always like that, even as a child.
When Tim was about 7 he and Alicia were at our local health club for an afternoon of kids’ swim. When I went to pick them up, I was told there was a charge of $7.50 on our account (a lot of money for us in those days). The staff member told me that when the kids were instructed to get out of the pool for a midafternoon break, Tim generously called out, “Candy bars for everyone!” which the staff dutifully supplied.
Shane also told me how much he still misses Tim. He and Tim shared the same wicked sense of humor and both watched Comedy Central-a lot. When Shane would hear something particularly funny he would pick up the phone and tell Tim. Shane told me that every so often he still finds himself reaching for his phone to call Tim and then remembers that he is not here.
I so enjoyed my evening talking about Tim. Thanks, Shane.
Tim was a cab driver in Tucson, AZ. On March 5, 2008 he was shot to death- just 3 days after his 27th birthday. Three people were arrested in connection with this crime. I’m Tim’s mom, Dianna, and will be posting updates regarding Tim’s story and the progress of the legal proceedings.
Tim’s story was the subject of an episode of The First 48 on A&E. Tim’s senseless death touched and outraged many and I am grateful to you who have sent your love and support. I especially want to thank Bob for making this page possible. Bob saw the First 48 episode, registered this domain name, created this page and coached me in how to use it.
Tim was my son, Alicia’s brother, Melissa’s fiance, and an expectant father. His son was born 5 months after he was killed. He was a friend, cousin, nephew, grandson and godson. His death has touched many.
I knew Tim as my son, since his murder, I have learned about him through other’s eyes and have become more proud of him than ever. On this page, I will share stories about Tim and, hopefully, you will come to know him, too.

I wish that I could have met Tim. Altough I feel I have thru Dianna and I am proud of that.
He has touched my life for sure.
